For a $25 donation, each Mother’s Day card can support a week of healthy lunches for a Women’s Lunch Place guest. By funding the Healthy Meals program and individualized services that empower women to make positive changes in their lives, our cards are a gift that gives back. This year’s Mother’s Day Card artist is Lillian––her story is below.
Lillian found Women’s Lunch Place after a traumatic brain injury left her out of work, homeless, and alone. Through our Advocacy program, Lillian was able to find a new home and is now engaged in Housing Stabilization services, which assist newly housed women with furnishings, community connection, and individual case management to prevent a slide back into homelessness.
As this year’s WLP Mother’s Day Card artist, Lillian collaborated with local artist and longtime volunteer and donor of WLP, Janice Hayes-Cha, to create a beautiful collage out of repurposed greeting cards.
“Women’s Lunch Place helps many women who are dealing with stressful housing and homeless circumstances,” said Lillian. “But we thrive thanks to their healthy meals and their Advocates’ positivity.”
